But it was made by Poland's leading web-designer:

It might help if the man learnt English himself.

And how to link.

Haha, what a comparison ;-) We've got the new vamped up upgrade coming up soon, but I did not realize the current one was that bad!

I still have to figure out how this linking stuff works, I kind of assumed it would get changed automatically...

Hey Quentin, thanks for the thumbs up on the idea ;-)

Witam wszystkich,

A przy okazji jestem ciekaw Waszych opinii, czy ten projekt ma szanse się przyjąć? Czy uważacie, że jest wystarczające zapotrzebowanie?
Nope.

Smart people want to do business in guileless ways, and we avoid cheap angles.

I should add that I'm regularly wrong even in my own former area of expertise, which isn't business and isn't language. Further, I hope it's a wild success. You're obviously ambitious and smart. It's nice to see people doing well.Joj Y. edytował(a) ten post dnia 25.10.10 o godzinie 17:21

I would be afraid of some negatives, eg. learner's stress related to lack of visual context, lack of structure/scenario of conversation.

If I were to prepare myself for a telephone conversation in foreign language, eg. German, I would rather study a standard telephone call scenario from a handbook and go for it. I would rather demand my interlocutor to speak slowly (Bitte sprechen sie langsam und deutlich).
I would also prepare myself a cheat sheet, write down:
- some ready expressions I would use,
- transliteration of my name and my email address, my telephone number (in my brain it seats in Polish order not German reverse vier (5) und zwanzig (20) making up 25,
- information (quantities, qualities) that I would like to convey.
I would ask many times if I am well understood.
At the end of the conversation, I would demand a short letter confirming on what we agreed upon during conversation to avoid misunderstanding.
But I would not practice telephone calls with a hotline.

What about offering some scenarios of conversation? Let's say, we will have a business conversation in which you will file a complaint, order a certain quiantity of apples... etc.Jacek K. edytował(a) ten post dnia 27.10.10 o godzinie 02:48

That's a good one. I wonder why it is like that? Sometimes the way the numbers are perceived comes from former trading rules, measurementes, etc. But why reverse in German.

And why is it, that in Poland, the plural form changes with 5. What's so special about 5? Why not 7? Or 38? :)
