Temat: NBA 2011(barely)/2012 Season

ESPN is reporting the Players Union and owners have reached a tentative labor agreement. The details are available anywhere, but one of them has to do with the salary cap rules going toward more parity in the way certain teams in certain markets will be able to compete for free agents.

The agreement is set to be ratified December 9. The league would then aim to start the season on December 25.

This weekend some local guys here were arguing who's a better dunker. Jason R. or Shannon Brown. These guys played with either. Hands down, JRich was the concensus.

JRich reminds me of Nique - both are two foot leapers, very powerful and... 'stiff' if you catch my drift. There's no finesse in their dunks.

Brown is shorter and naturally can't pull off some of the stunts JRich does (used to do) on a daily basis. I'd go with Brown though.

Now that you mention it, I can see the 'Nique comparison very much. Yep. I agree about Brown too (that touches on your point about the tallest NBA guys in the dunk contest, i.e., 6'10"? yawn. It reminds me of guys joking around on an 8' rim in their driveways).

Yep...good call. That's a lot of mileage in a shortened season when you don't get to rest your dogs much. They aren't made for a LeMans or Dakkar type race. Maybe they could join a competitive pigeon feeding league. :)

(Pistons made an emergency landing last night in Houston secondary to hydraulic-hassle-in-the- landing-gear. Now that they're safe some good jokes can be generated. I guess they could start with some simple mechanical failure references related to pistons and then deteriorate into the "what would be the last thing that went through the GMs great mind..." Pistons 3peat! Kris Kardashian lightly tossed the ball in someone's face, maybe Monroe. Gordon. Forgot. But then he promptly got slammed on. I think they play in Detroit tonight, third game in ten days between them. That'll be a good time to organize some things I have in storage. :)
