Responsible for level 2 support in India(10+ people) team, writing/reviewing procedures,
guidance / knowledge transfer. Taking care of local contractors, creating tasks, training.
Helping recruiting new contractors (technical checks). Supporting virtual footprint of
~15000 virtual machines, in multiple datacenters / virtual centers / countries (NL, RO, AT,
CH, UK). Automation of daily tasks, checks, hosts installations, vm deployments using
powershell/rest/soap/powercli. Fully responsible for software/hardware/infrastructure,
taking ownership of infrastructure. Responsible for migration cisco 1000v ACL rules to
VDS( automated via vsphere api), including the export/import/backup of rules,
single/batch. Virtual center migration (~1200 vms), (Old site 64 hosts esxi 6.0, new site
32 hosts esxi 6.5). Most of the migration was automated, entire move took 12 days
including deployments of virtual infrastructure, organizing backups, preparing migration
scripts etc, cross vc vmotion (different SSO domains) using powershell/powercli.
Migration of vsphere from 5.x to 6.x, creating new environmnets. Writing tooling
software to perform vcenter clone( copies most of the configuration from source VC to
destination VC including folder structures/ cluster configs/vapp config/ resource pools,
attaching hosts, placing vms). Taking part in cloud POCs together with vendor(VMware).
Supporting / troubleshooting windows(mostly 2012), linux vms( mostly red hat),
application performance. Gatekeeper for new project deployments / resource add-ons,
checking capacity ( automated ). Automated reports uploading / consolidation across EU
OpCos (multiple countries, virtual centres reports) via collaboration platform Jive
( powershell ).
