According to the one of Kaczyński's brothers internet users are beer-drinkers watching porno websites and voting when they've got a whimpsy. So... dear goldenline users, could you be so nice and write down what kind of beer you like and your favourites websites ? heheheh

I suppose that Kaczyński's statement is nothing more than envy. As he deposits his money on his mom's account, it is likely that she didn't allow him to install Internet at home ;) So now, he's trying to console himself by bitching on Internet users...

I used to be a faculty computer room administrator when I was a student. One of my responsibilities was to supervise the users and ban them, if needed, as the computer room was supposed to be used for "academic purposes" and mailbox checking only. Well, there were some gals and boyz flirting on a chat, playing online games, browsing job offers or trying to install p2p software, whom I had to warn and ask to give way to others who needed to edit their essays or order books from the central library. But none of them have ever browsed porn sites in a public computer room!

I visited the central university library in Toruń yesterday (to get some books for my thesis, not because of Kaczyński, to make it clear). There were some terminals with Internet access, as well as students with their own laptops, enjoying free WiFi access. What I could see on their monitors (a secret glance from under my spy collar!) was everything but pornography.

I'm not trying to deny the fact that students (especially male ones) may be exceptionally interested in XXX sites, but, for God's sake, they seem wise enough to avoid browsing them in public premises!

Jarek, it's time to get some money from your matkomat and buy yourself a Neostrada package. And boost up your trust in people, too!

I don't drink much, so he is wrong there.
However, I'm not going to bullshit and say I have never looked at porn.
When I was in France, in the months before selling up and moving to Poland I started to look for Polish TV and films via Kazaa, a P2P service. I searched under 'film' and 'Polish' and managed to find a series called 'Podrywacze'.
To my surprise (but not horror and disgust) it was a series where two guys would go with a video camera, pick up a girl in the streets, take her somewhere and then ... ahem.
In theory it was just spontaneous acts with randy girls, but a) it is a bit wierd walking around with a video camera all the time, yet no girl seemed to question it, and b) I don't believe that the typical doctor only has underwear under her white coat.

The internet has been a boon for sellers of porn and for guys (and some women, maybe) who want to look at it but don't want to go to a shop.
It has also been great for gambling and communication between friends and family, but apparently he didn't mention that.

The statement made by Kaczyński ( must admit not having checked the context), and your anger at his presumably highly unfair utterance, aside - could someone please tell me what's wrong in having no bank account? I was forced to have one because there was no other way for my employer to pay me my salary. I am not happy at all about the fact that some stupid bank earns so much on me - cash machine costs and so do all possible countless operations.
Obviously, having an account makes your life easier, especially so when one is a businessman, or earns a lot, or when travelling. For me, a person living from hand to mouth (it's not a complaint,btw), it's a complication and a waste of time and money.Wendy Tweed edytował(a) ten post dnia 16.03.08 o godzinie 12:34

Actually, what caused the biggest stir was not the lack of a personal bank account, but the reason for avoiding having it. Kaczyński said he didn't want to have one, as someone might get his account number to deposit a huge amount of money there and then accused him of bribery and corruption. That's why he prefers to rely on his mother's account.

Oh, one can only imagine a mile-long queue of gangsters willing to transfer their dirty money to Jarek's account :)
