Alibaba Group`s Jack Ma to Share Vision for Next Decade of Global e-Commerce

Keynote Address to Cap 2009 APEC SME Summit in Hangzhou

E-business visionary Jack Ma, who 10 years ago founded Alibaba Group in his Hangzhou apartment along with 17 associates, will reveal a vision of the coming virtual world of e-commerce where both buyers and sellers benefit from lower prices, higher profit margins and infinite tailor-made choices thanks to mass
customization. His address to thousands of small business entrepreneurs attending AliFest 2009 this Saturday will be the finale of the 2009 APEC SME Summit being held at the Hangzhou Leisure Expo Convention Center.

Ma`s description of how e-commerce will forever change the way wholesale and retail business is done around the world will cap a two-day event that also features comments from President Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd president of the United States; Howard Schultz, chairman,
president and CEO of Starbucks; Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate; and Kobe Bryant, Olympic Gold Medalist and NBA champion.

"Internet-based technologies are going to revolutionize the way business is done and shift forever the power dynamics between customers and businesses, and entrepreneurial small and medium companies around the world who take advantage of these new developments and emerging trends will be the ones who come out
ahead," Ma said. "Over the next decade, technology will permit the creation of a virtual business world populated by real entrepreneurs who choose to operate

The APEC SME Summit takes place Sept. 11-12 at the Hangzhou Leisure Expo Convention Center in the First World Grand Theatre. APEC is one of the world`s most influential intergovernmental economic partnership organizations. The summit is jointly hosted by Alibaba Group, Singapore Business Federation, Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and People`s
Municipal Government of Hangzhou. Some 3,000 attendees from more than 20 nations are registered to attend this year`s APEC SME Summit.
