Job description
The main responsibility of the DRC is the coordination of recovery activities in a real disaster situation at the customer site.
The DRC coordinates and drives the development of DR Plans (DRPs) to ensure the customer organization can respond to a disaster so that the customer defined critical business applications and functions can be resumed within a defined time frame, the amount of loss can be minimized as defined, and any stricken in scope IT Infrastructure can be recovered as defined.
The DRC schedules, plans, coordinates, manages and documents Disaster Recovery Exercises (DREs) with the customer, the responsible IBM Global Delivery Centre (GDC) and the involved Third Party providers. This is to make sure that the DRPs are executable, the recovery objectives are reachable and any possible inconsistencies in the documents are recognized and corrected. The DRC also coordinates and tracks the needed remediation activities.

Main activities include:

DR Coordination
• Lead the DR coordination in the event of a disaster
• Act as a local IBM lead with the customer in the return to normal operations from a disaster
• Participate in IBM or Customer Site Crisis and Emergency Response process for impacted site
• Mobilize recovery teams and vendors during a disaster

DR Exercises
• Manage, schedule, plan and coordinate Disaster Recovery Exercises (DRE) with the customer and agreed Third Party vendors on a scheduled or requested basis.
• Coordinate data recovery to a specific Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for a DRE or DRP execution, according to the agreed timelines
• Request and coordinate technical resources at the responsible GDC to participate at DRE meetings and to execute DREs
• Follow the IT Service Continuity Management process as defined for the customer. Write and manage all DR documentation according the defined processes. Schedule and coordinate DREs and ensure audit requirements are met

DR Documents
• Create, maintain and review the non-technical part of DR Plan for each site
• Create the Disaster Recovery Exercise Scope & Objectives documents, the Disaster Recovery Exercise Plans and the Disaster Recovery Exercise Results (DRER) documents
• Request technical resources and coordinate the resources for the creation, maintenance, and review of the technical procedures, which are part of the customer DRPs
• Coordinate the development, creation and maintenance of standardized Technical Recovery Guides (TRGs) and recovery timelines with the responsible GDC
• Coordinate the review of TRGs through the responsible GDC at least annually

Others
• Support the installation, implementation and testing of DR solutions
• Provide support to the customer in the event of an audit for the DR services provided by IBM
• Review and compare third party contracts with the DRP so that they align with the DR requirements. Initiate, review and verify the changes to the contracts.

Requirements:
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of current DR planning techniques and technologies
• General IT Infrastructure knowledge in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures
• Good project management skills. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the testing of recovery procedures
• Strong human relations skills to interface with the customers plus staff at all levels within the IBM organization and the customer organization. Also able to deal with vendors who provide disaster recovery services
• Good oral communication and written communication skills
• Understanding of the ITIL disciplines within a commercial environment
