Open to: Eligible Polish Students
Position: Student Intern in the Executive Office
Opening Date: January 29, 2009
Closing Date: February 12, 2009
Work Hours: 8 hours/5 days per week
Duration: April-September 2009

Note: All applicants must be of Polish citizenship and meet the required definition of student as provided in the application materials to be eligible for consideration.

The U.S. Embassy in Warsaw is seeking an individual for to work as a Student Intern in the Executive Office of the Embassy. This is an unpaid internship which will provide the intern with a rare opportunity to learn first-hand about the operations of a U.S. diplomatic office.

Major Duties or Projects:
• Provides administrative support to Protocol Section and Executive Office, particularly during the lead up months to the Independence Day celebration and the months immediately after Independence Day
• Enters data into Contacts database; Prepares guest list for AMB and DCM review; Prepares invitations, stuffs envelopes, and tracks acceptances and regrets for events at AMB’s and DCM’s residences; Prepares sample invitations for approval by AMB or DCM. Translates Polish-language invitations and correspondence for EXEC Office.

Qualifications Required:
Completion of secondary school. Familiarity with PC-based software – Word, Outlook, Internet

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, good communications, customer service orientation

Abilities:
Organizational ability, excellent phone skills

Language Requirements:
English and Polish Level 4 (fluent).
