Conference Announcement

The Department of Preschool Education (Laboratorial Unit of Ecological Psychology and Heuristic, Experiential and Communicative/Dialogic Psychopedagogy, Laboratory of Psychological Research, Faculty of Education) and the Department of Philosophy and Social Studies (Division of Theory and Methodology of Social Sciences, School of Letters) of the University of Crete organize an International Interdisciplinary Conference which will be held from 10th to 12th October 2008 in Rethymno, Crete, Greece. The conference theme is:

LIVED EXPERIENCE, METAPHOR AND MULTIMODALITY: IMPLICATIONS IN
COMMUNICATION, EDUCATION, LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE

The conference aims to address the current thinking and research on:
(a) the nature of lived experience, metaphor and multimodality,
(b) the relationship between lived experience, metaphor and multimodality,
(c) the epistemological, methodological, literary, psychological, educational,
socio-historical, cultural, ecological and dialogic dimensions of lived
experience, metaphor and multimodality,
(d) the potential and importance of lived experience, metaphor and multimodality in psychological processes
(perceptual, cognitive, learning, developmental, communication,
interpersonal and social-moral), and
(e) the applications or implications of lived experience, metaphor and multimodality in education, learning,
counselling, psychotherapy and information and communication technologies.
