Primary responsibilities as Regional LIMS Specialist are:

- Assisting the Regional LIMS Co-ordinator in providing technical and DBA support for the LIMS instances across the region
- Developing and implementing new LIMS instances within the region
- Ensuring that current best practice LIMS functionality is implemented as the standard in each of the targeted regional sites
- Implementing new functionality in LIMS in order to meet evolving customer or business requirements
- Ensuring consistency across the region and developing the structure of LIMS to interface with other business systems

My primary responsibilities were:

• Acts as member of LIMS team, sharing best practice, keeping knowledge base up to date and working collaboratively to ensure a quality service is delivered to the LGC laboratory based community
• Analyze, design, code / configure and test software to develop systems to meet business and technical requirements
• Supporting various LabWare systems and clients within LGC Group
• Configuring software, root cause analysis and preventive actions
• Provide second tier application support for complex issues, working closely with application vendors, IT and coaching first tier support team members
• Collaborate with QC and Manufacturing subject matter experts to understand, document and track improvement opportunities
• Create or review functional test scripts and system documentation to support new functionality deployments and routine updates
• Ensuring development activities are delivered in a timely, effective and quality focused manner

I was responsible for smooth transition of new methodologies from the development environment to the QC labs as well as trouble shooting analytical issues experienced within the QC Labs and the implementation of corrective actions effectively.

Good working knowledge of XRF and ICP for the analysis of precious metals and other base metals.

• Maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments, able to operate and train in the following analytical techniques - ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, TGA, Dispersion Analysis, Surface Area Analysis, Porosity Analysis and CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion).
• Sample preparation by microwave digestion for ICP analysis
• Sample preparation for XRF analysis.

I worked in a busy environmental soil and water testing laboratory. My primary responsibilities were:

• Monitoring of four main methods, ensuring that people from my department were running correct samples, including all urgent ones.
• Preparation and digestion of soil and water samples for subsequent analysis.
