I was taking care of my niece when she was a few months old and I must say that she did not like my friend from Egypt. She freaked out whenever she saw her, I guess it was because of her scarf and a different language. Also, she started crying whenever she saw an African American. One white-colored mum is breast feeding her baby while commuting on the underground. Opposite of her sits a black-colored mum doing the very same to hers. After some time the baby of the first mum lets the nipple go, looks up and cries: "I want to have chocolate too!"

I remember reading the last one last year.
Where we lived in the states, we were a minority, my daughter grew up in a super diverse environment and I know that she "doesn't see" color. My son on the other hand is now growing up in Poland, I often wonder if his racial perception will differ from that of his sister's. To quote an old Rasta dude that I've had a chat with a while back - "if you put two kids in a room - one black and one white... what will they do? they will play together"
I know that racism is not hardwired, it's more like an air-born virus.

we came to the UK when my son was very little. Living in Poland he met only white pple. In the UK from the very beginning he has met all sorts of races. first he met Indians when we did our first shopping as they run a local shop. On the playground he played with children from Afganistan, India, China. a race didn't make any difference for him. His only concern "is the children." hehe Whoa-kay.A lot of states have removed their Justice of the Peace jurisdictions but those southern states always hold on.
They were designed to take some of the case load burdens from the courts, and they have limited range of power to make decisions and awards.I think it's an elected position in Louisiana. Not sure, but it is part of their judicial branch of government so that stinks.
I hope he loses his license or gets some kind of a probation, but I hope he doesn't get hurt beyond that.
