Temat: 29 latek zmarł w szpitalu w następstwie odniesionych ran...

GARDAÍ HAVE started an investigation following the death of man who presented himself to hospital with stab wounds.

The victim arrived at a Dublin hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning but died from his wounds in the afternoon. Gardaí have established the identity of the deceased, a 29-year-old Polish national who had been working in Ireland for a number of years.

The dead man had been living in Naas, Co Kildare, but was visiting friends in Dublin at the weekend when he was stabbed and later died.

Detectives have established the deceased was among a party of up to 12 men and women, all believed to be Polish, who spent Saturday night into yesterday morning socialising at the Wright Venue bar and nightclub at Airside Retail Park, Swords, north Co Dublin.

He left the venue with his friends but it is as yet unclear where he spent the next hour. At around 4am he arrived at the Rotunda Hospital, Parnell Square, Dublin, with stab wounds.

Gardaí believe he was dropped off at the hospital by somebody who did not know the Rotunda was a maternity hospital.

The victim was transferred to the Mater Hospital but despite emergency treatment, he died there at 4pm yesterday. His family has been traced in Poland and has been informed of his death.

Detectives have made a direct appeal to members of the Polish community. Gardaí in Swords can be contacted on (01) 666 4700. Those with information can also contact gardaí via the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
