These are a few of the recent projects that I have completed while working at AMG Engineering, including the description of the project and the duties within the project that I was directly involved in providing to my customers.
Waste Management Tri – Cities Project Value: $136,000
Project Description: Manage and execute construction of 2 Fybroc pumps for Leachate & saline conditions
- Customer defined scope of the project (provide pumping system that is corrosion resistant to environment, required total head and flow capacity for the system.
- Developed plan for customer based on requirements, solicited and researched for a company to provide pump which has no metal moving parts which is in contact with the pumped liquid
- Developed a risk analysis for the system and estimated the total project completion cost for the customer.
- Created a construction outline including soliciting a design company, construction company for project execution, material assembly, and pump development.
- Estimated project completion outline based on a full timetable for the turn-key product execution.
Castro Valley Sanitary District Project Value: $105,000
Project Description: Pump Station #5 retrofit project (public bid project) estimate and analyze costs, logistics, and won the contract bid.
- Determined the scope of the project based off contract documents, acquired material costs and construction costs for estimation purposes
- Teamed with district engineer to interpret risk analysis and possible issues relating to the project.
- Based of blueprints provided by district I provided a cost analysis to the customer
- Worked with vendors for material acquisition timetables for activity planning and sequencing.
- Created charts, schedules, and time estimates based on the construction analysis, material acquisition times and strategically influenced proper sequencing for smooth and fluid project execution.
Union Pacific Rail station Project Value: $151,000
Project Description: Storm Station retrofit project (customer based project) flooding based on cargo area after severe rain storms current station electrical panels were flooded. Needed a raised elevation, new control panels and new pumps based on flow capacity and head pressure.
- Determined the scope of the project based off the customers current issues with system and developed a turn-key solution using all elements required.
- Developed schedules for time and cost management.
- Provided customer with cost estimation with relation to sequencing, material acquirement, and resources needed.
- Teamed with a construction company to raise elevation of flooded area consisting of an area roughly covering 50 yards sq. to raise electrical conduit and increase wet well access by 4ft height.
- Contacted our suppliers to construct a control panel to include the customers’ needs and pump requirements
- Installed electrical control panel and provided confined space documentation and entry for pump installation.
- Monitored and reported site progress with documentation of probable future risk analysis for timely completion of the project.
- Controlled quality of the craftsmanship on the project including involving myself in panel and pump installation for timely execution.
- Applied team leadership qualities to execute budgeted project timely and efficiently
Cal-trans route 880 overpass storm station Project Value: 131,000
Project description: customer provided blueprints regarding planned project requirements, provided expertise and industry knowledge for optimal budgeted turn-key product.
- Teamed with general contractor (MCM construction engineer) for projected budget, activity planning, sequencing, risk analysis.
- Acquired materials for new pump station development, concrete casting, excavation and development of the wet well concrete and cover completion.
- Site required electrical line extension, contacted the proper permitting and contractor for installation
- Partnered with pumping company for flow requirement analysis and installation requirements
- Managed water table risks and issues and provided solutions to avert probable construction setbacks.
- Worked with vendors for material delivery estimation and quality control.
- Monitored and reported progress to general construction engineer
- Provided customer with complete turnkey product, tested quality of end product user ability and trained appropriate technicians for optimal use
