As far as my UNDSS field missions’ duties are concerned they included: assisting the senior management in the execution of responsibilities regarding safety and security of staff and assets. I was managing security of the UN system by conducting security risk assessments for my duty stations on a permanent basis, maintaining and updating security and contingency plans as well as covering movement control of staff. I intensively worked to improve safety of UN staff and dependants through conducting regular exercises and evacuation drills to be ready for emergencies. It had been enhanced through the revision and regular updates of the SRA, MOSS, and MORSS documents, regular security surveys of UN premises, assessments of hotels, conference and workshop venues.

I used to head the H. Kostajnica Field Office in Croatia for two years from 2001 to 2003 having in addition two-year prior experience as the OSCE monitor and regional democratization officer. As for my duties and responsibilities performed they included: monitoring of return and integration of refugees, legal affairs, democratization, human rights, police and media that were my main fields of interest. Furthermore, liaise and maintaining working relations with regional and local authorities and communities including ethnic and religious groups. In addition, I used to liaise and cooperate with schools and NGOs to develop initiatives to support the process of civil society development.
