This position is responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly financial data processing required to complete required financial reporting and daily accounting functions including invoicing and cash management. In addition, the position works directly with users to address financial data issues within Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 and custom financial tools. The incumbent has thorough knowledge of multiple subject areas or disciplines; understands how own area integrates with and impacts other areas; and is building understanding of business trends and industry issues and challenges. He/she decides most effective method to deliver work/results. This position impacts department/unit assignment by ensuring quality of tasks/output provided by self and others.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs accounting duties of a complex nature requiring advanced professional experience, knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices.
  • Works with broad discretion as to work details on assignments of a varied, diverse and difficult nature.
  • Submits recommendations for improved operations. 
  • Develops and implements difficult accounting systems, methods, procedures, and controls. 
  • Assist global financial system users of different Lines of Business with system problems and Oracle specific problems in the Projects/AP/AR/GL modules:
    - Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming requests from users via the online support request tool in a potentially heavy  volume environment 
    - Evaluate and research issues and provide timely and accurate support.
    - Interview users to collect information about problem and to help determine source of the issue.
    - Troubleshoot employee timesheet recording issues – related to projects/tasks and/or employee assignments
    - Obtain approval and provision MIS Security rights to domestic and international users.
    - Document troubleshooting steps and detailed resolutions in the online support request tool.
  • Complete and troubleshoot problems arising from daily, weekly and monthly Oracle global processing for all companies.
  • Identify performance issues and unprocessed transactions in Oracle EBS, follow escalation process and track issues until resolution
  • Provide audit information relating to users roles/responsibilities in financial systems to internal and external auditors.
  • Create Knowledge Base articles for internal procedures and FAQs for users within the online support request tool


The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, equivalent major or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of professional accounting experience, or CPA/CMA plus two years professional accounting experience.
    - Business experience in accounting/finance or help desk related field 
  • General financial application experience , esp. Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, primarily including excel and access, required.
    - SQL query knowledge is preferred, not required
  • Customer service experience or strong orientation to a customer service environment, desired. 
  • Detail orientation, including the ability to multitask, prioritize, research and problem solve, required
