A Technician/Engineer involved in a variety of projects at Heysham 2 and others EDF nuclear power stations. Diverse experience has been gained in the highly regulated industrial environment including new hardware and software development, station support in the ongoing and outage maintenance of the legacy C&I systems, and workshop repair/refurbishment of various electrical equipment. SC level clearance holder for Nuclear Sites.
Responsibilities and roles:
 Hardware development – analogue, digital and embedded projects using PIC and ARM Cortex microcontrollers – production process spanning from design concepts, pre-production built, test, modifications to finishing in assembly of the final product.
 Software development for embedded systems in C, and experience with various embedded peripherals (RAM, EPROM, UART, A/D, D/A, I2C and SPI)
 C&I equipment for plant signals monitoring and conversion designed, developed and commissioned.
 Responsible for ongoing and outage legacy Data Processing Systems support.
 Test, assembly, repair and refurbishment of a wide range of electrical and electronic equipment used at the power stations.
 Produced reports, technical documentation, test procedures and feasibility studies.
SQEP and E&M trained at EDF power station, worked both on the individual projects with senior colleagues supervision and as a part of the team, in cooperation with internal engineering, the IT team and the station personnel.
