Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Service and Projects)

Due to the development of our organization we are currently looking for Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Warsaw. The person hired on this position will be mainly responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards and conducting inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals in the workplace.

Tasks:

  • Ensures accountability and high-level safety performance throughout responsible businesses;
  • Proactively lead to ensure safe working practices and programs are further developed and maintained throughout the service and Project management organization;
  • Prepares method statements for project and services and assess customer requirements and contracts;
  • Implements policies and standards. Ensures area of responsibility is audited according to audit program;
  • Guides and support people of the organization to realize an exemplary safety culture as part of our total commitment to quality and reliability;
  • Conducts surveys, inspections, audits on customer projects, services and in the factory in Warsaw;
  • Prepares and executes periodical OHS training plans;
  • Facilitates safety risks assessment by line management involving shop floor employees, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards, and ensures all processes are implemented;
  • Investigate accidents and root causes, introduce, and supervise corrective actions; 
  • Reports safety incidents. Provides feedbon acks lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across ABB to management and employees;
  • Monitors a work environment measurement plan;
  • Initiation and development of various forms of popularization of safety issues;
  • Engages external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB's safety efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback. Cooperates with other functions and business partners to drive safety performance; 
  • Ensures appropriate safety equipment and tools are available and used. Drives and ensures compliance with country management systems (OHSAS 18001). 

Requirements:

  • Higher university degree, including the required health and safety based on Polish law regulations;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in working in OHS on service and projects;
  • Practical knowledge of applicable Polish law;
  • Experience in auditing on sites and running projects;
  • Fluency in Poilsh and English, especially in speaking and writing;
  • Ability to plan, organize, execute and track internal trainings;
  • Ability to self-initiate actions, decision making, overcoming problems;
  • Ability to plan and organize own work.
