Seeking 2 individuals to fill the newly created roles of Fraud Investigator / Analyst. These roles will be either shift based or 1 full time and 1 part time individual to ensure Secret Escapes has weekend coverage for reviewing fraudulent transactions. 

We do not anticipate that weekend coverage will be required for a full day therefore it will likely be 2 half days of work. 

The Fraud Investigator will be required to assist the Payments team in managing potential fraudulent cases on a day to day basis and representing chargebacks to our Payment Service Providers, whilst owning their individual caseload of investigations.

Duties include:

  • Carry out all investigation work of suspicious bookings and member activity in accordance with regulatory and business standards
  • Assess high-risk customer transactions; approving or rejecting based on internal tools.
  • Gather intelligence and evidence using recognised, approved sources and complying with all relevant legislation
  • Maintain comprehensive records and files relating to investigation work
  • Provide the Payments team with appropriate guidance on active fraud cases
  • Undertake fraud risk assessments to ensure robust controls are in place to mitigate fraud cases
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on all fraud investigations
  • Ensure that all verbal and written communications are accurate and clear
  • Gathering evidence and information for representation of Chargebacks
  • Liaising with customer support, members, hotels and suppliers on suspicious bookings or chargebacks
  • Where required providing information to local law enforcement officers to assist with their investigations
  • Responding to and updating Paypal disputes
  • Managing fraud prevention process and procedures

Required Skills:

  • Must know how to monitor risk and fraud from an e-commerce point of view, preferably within a retail, travel or airlines environment
  • 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Familiar with investigating, processing and representation of chargebacks as per card scheme requirements
  • Strong decision making and judgment
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Ability to deal professionally and confidently with people at all levels
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Word/Excel at intermediate level, Salesforce, PayPal, Zendesk
  • Nice to have - Worldpay, CMS (or other similar system)
