Technologies created in Intel's R&D Center in Gdańsk, Poland are being applied in wide range of products that are used in virtually every computing center that exists in the world, as well as integrated into products and services offered by Intel’s direct customers.

About the role:

As a Senior Cloud Software Research Engineer with the Data Center Security & Systems Architecture Team you will take part in the innovation of the cutting edge cloud computing and be working on a redefinition of how the industry approaches system benchmarking.

Research is directed towards a shift how performance is measured within Intel and the industry to represent system performance. We will set a new standard for performance measurement with support from key partners. We work on setting a real-world representation of workload and infrastructure to measure and optimize performance, then influence architecture.

We are looking for an individual to help define/innovate new cloud software solutions specific to the advanced program needs. If you are excited about working on cutting-edge technology together with the leading research and development experts, this is a great opportunity!

Responsibilities: 

• Define, develop, and analyze system benchmarks that represent real-world end-to-end use cases for cloud deployments
• Responsible for the development and deployment of system software solutions that span on-premise and cloud
• Plan independently and execute to deliver quality software solutions, test plans and documentation
• Develop open source reference implementation of the benchmark, based on latest cloud software technologies and deployment models

Qualifications:

Important for us:

• Experience in System Software Development
• Experience in Cloud Native development using Kubernetes, Containers, and related technologies
• Microservices based scale out product development
• Experience in Cloud Programming with exposure to major Cloud Services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying complex software solutions, in cloud and on-premise
• Software developments skills - OOP and scripting
• Proven process-oriented leadership with good documentation, communication, and presentation skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
  

Nice to have & opportunities to learn:

• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for a multi-rack, scale-out infrastructure
• Cloud networking, service mesh, distributed and local storage & database services
• Experience with Operating System internals
• System level performance evaluation and hotspot analysis
