MySQL database administrator

Key responsibilities :

• Maintain high server availability
  
• Database cluster management, ensuring maximum up-time
  
• Backup management
  
• Collect, interpret and provide performance metrics
  
• General day-to-day problem solving
  
• Out-of-hours support occasionally required
  
• Work closely with other team members to identify and resolve bottlenecks in the application
  

Essential

• Experience with MySQL
  
• Some experience of Linux Systems Admin
  
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  
• Highly self-motivated and directed
  
• Good time management
  
• Fluent English, with good spelling and grammar
  

As an advantage

• Experience of SQL and optimising indexes and queries
  
• Knowledge of Galera database clusters
  
• Knowledge of Percona Tools
  
• UNIX shell scripting, and SQL skills
