winter flood incidents – management of internal Area teams and external suppliers.
• Preparation of procurement strategies, compilation of statements of requirements and tender
management; tender reviews and appointment of suppliers.
• Management of framework consultants and contactors, preparation of Professional Services and
Engineering Contracts - approval of budgets and programmes under NEECA2, NCF2 and WEM
frameworks.
• Management of PSCs, ECCs and ECSCs (NEC3 suite); overseeing the holistic management of
construction projects from appraisal to closure.
• Preparation of business cases – appraisal reports, initial assessments; business justification packs
and budget reviews.
• Commercial and financial management of projects – financial forecasting, progress monitoring and
risk management.
• Compliance with Construction Design Manual procedures; revision of construction Risk Assessments
Method Statements documentation; on site Health and Safety assessments and audits.

• Conducting research activities regarding hydrology, polar hydrology and natural catastrophes risk assessments.
• EU grant applications involving EU and ICPC partners: FP7 grant application (MBSPAP and NADINE projects); Foundation for Polish Science grants and national funds (Ministry of Science and Education, Science and Technology Fund, National Environment Protection and Water Management Fund).
• EEA grant applications including Norway Grants, Swiss Contribution grants.
• Interdisciplinary research activities regarding water and wastewater analysis and implementation of Water Framework Directive 2000 into national regulations.
• Specialist consultations, scientific reviews (Polish-Swiss Research Programme).

• Categorisation and site assessments on Sustainable Flood Retention Basins, part of EU INTERREG IVB SAWA grant.
• GIS analysis of collected data using MapInfo, ArcInfo and other Spatial Management tools.
• Supervision and construction of five experimental plots and their data analysis and collection:
­ -constructed wetlands clogging
­ -influence of ground source heat pumps on constructed wetlands
­ -usage and decomposition of pesticides on permeable pavements
