Main responsibilities include duty management, marketing, staff appraisals, organization of function and implementing staff training procedures.
As a duty manager I am responsible for every aspect of the hotel to include ensuring that the guests enjoy their stay, staff works as a team together and the oprations makes profit. I keep track on every financial transaction in the hotel to ensure that incoming and outgoing money is accurately recorded and handled and all record balance at the end of the shift, if not have to investigate and correct it. I run the office
operations on daily basic.
I am responsible also for all office work while on duty (daily reports, monthly reports, sales ledger, taking reservation face to face, via phone, through internet).As a duty manager in charge I am ultimately responsible for the health and safety of everyone on the premises, upholding the licensing laws and consumer protection.
I am responsible to find a solution for “every day” problems.

Main duties: working as part of a small team 5 days over 7 working spilt shifts. Checking guests in and out of hotel using hotel computer system ( Holidex ).
Taking bookings face to face, via fax, via telephone and through the Internet.
Additional tasks include operating the hotel internal switchboard. While on duty at the desk we are expected to deal with customers inquires regarding the hotel and the local area. At the start of each shift I am responsible for the cash float and banking the Takings as and when required, and the daily sales ledger and daily audit reports And any other administrative ad-hoc tasks that may be required on any particular day.
