have Eastern European women been winners or losers since the fall of the Berlin Wall?- an Eastern German woman is now German chancellor
- some Eastern German communities offer money and flats for women who come there and settle down (for some 5 years at least)
- in 2007 a little more than 4500 bi national marriages took place between Poles (women) and Germans (men) (mostly in this combination), the numbers were rising
- a person I met recently announced freely that she found a German guy who is going to take her to Germany and she'll hold up her end of the bargain by giving him one or two kids (sic!)
The, next to Merkel, most famous Eastern German woman (Zonen-Gabi) is actually from Frankfurt/Main:
