Incidentally, I have read a very good article about us i.e. Poles, in the last issue of "Wprost". The portrait of today's Poles painted there by Paweł Śpiewak seems to be very accurate. On the whole, we are distrustful (mistrustful?)towards people and institutions, and live in conviction that everybody wants nothing but to do harm to us.
Apologies for reviving this already forgotten thread, but I am always on a long fuse. :) (= on a 'spóźniony zapłon')

You can try to google 'Wprost', a Polish weekly. The article is obviously in Polish);-( The title of the article is: 'Polaka portret podglądany'.
The trouble is that it is the last issue and they do not give one access to the full article - they wouldn't buy it at the newsagent's otherwise, would they? :)
