So you go for cherry and vanilla?

My bathroom is still not furnished after 3 yrs!

Anybody had their bathroom furniture made by a local carpenter?Lidia K. edytował(a) ten post dnia 06.08.08 o godzinie 13:37

IKEA's fine as long as you're looking for something nicely designed and inexpensive. I don't really dig it, although they do seem to have interesting ideas, especially for the kitchen - so, while I own just three pieces of IKEA furniture, my kitchen cupboards are full of dishwasher safe IKEA stuff!

Temat: IKEA or ...? Choices and dilemmas

we haven't IKEA in Estonia, but we have JYSK - almost the same - cheaper furniture. And some things can be chosen from there.

IK prefer light colours in furniture

Well, I have so much stuff from JYSK!

It feels like second-hand store somehow, but it's simple and so closeLidia K. edytował(a) ten post dnia 06.08.08 o godzinie 13:32

I've always had a thing about design. Scandinavian and Italian design in particular.
BoConcept is Danish and offers modern and minimalistic approach to urban homes. It's preposterously expensive, though.
We also have several excellent Polish brands - IKER, NOTI or VOX to name a few.
Then there are design icons such as the Egg Chair, the Bourgie Lamp, the Barcelona Chair ... It's endless really. I'll resume posting after lunch ;)

BoConcept is perfect. It's just for quite spacious interiors.
I used to have a lamp from Bo and of course it got broken!

What's this thing with leather sofas in Poland?
I find it a bit bourgeoius and unnecessarily extravagant.

I got couple things from IKEA, I try not to get too much into their stuff, it's not very durable and with a crazy little daughter and a cat, we need something that can take pounding. I found this one:

to be perfect for holding vinyl records, it's got a perfect 13 inch opening while vinyl is 12"... and we got one chair for my daughter.. that's about it though.

I don't think it's about leather as such.
I'd just go for this..

.. rather than that ..

I've got a sofa and two chairs from Bydgoskie Meble.

Lidia, I'll send you some pics from my apt. I bet you'd say the same about my living room :)

Leather's fine, unless it's red ;)

Good taste, Rafał.

The armrests render the second sofa uncomfortable, and on top of that it is one of the most common designs. The "Kowalski" sofa, so to speak. I've seen plenty of them in the faux leather version.

I love the first sofa, it reminds me of the masculine style of the 20s. It's also very popular, perhaps a bit too popular, at least in Warsaw. AlmiDecor shops (nice design, unfortunately not matched by the quality) have been selling them for a couple of years.

As a modernist design wouldn't fit my flat, I finally decided on that one:

It was a bargain, but I had to wait over three months to have it made. It came with matching armchairs.Adam Lipiński edytował(a) ten post dnia 06.08.08 o godzinie 15:12

Nice, but somewhat cold. I hope that you would warm this place up with some feminine additions.

Adam, COLD?!
What's cold here?!

I have LOTS of stuff. It'd surely be full soon.
The catalogues of interiors with no book lying around are just inhuman for me.Lidia K. edytował(a) ten post dnia 06.08.08 o godzinie 15:13

As much as I hate knick-knacks the only ones I buy are from Almi Decor. I do like this concept store.
