he's a mistery. As an actor - avarage (though I enjoyed Jerry Maguire) As a celebrity - strange, twisted. He's got some serios problems with his personality.
2. IKEA - furniture we love to hate?
They've come up with some good ideas. Their products are good for the first flat, for students maybe or young couples.
The good thing is you may get rid of them with no regret as they are cheap.
3. Indian food - can't replicate it properly at home. Can you?
I love indian food and constantly try to improve my cooking skills. Sometimes I suceed.

I was trying to think. Of course, I can recognize most of them. You'd have to live under a rock not to. Or I was in the same room when someone was watching one. That one where he's a cold hit man. That one comes to mind but I can't think of the title. I guess I was too busy doing other things, not that those things were more or less important than watching a video. Ironically, I would probably like most of his films with the exception of "Top Gun."

Edit: Visually scanned his filmography. "Collateral Damage." Eureka! I did see "Interview With a Vampire" (I liked it then, I wouldn't like it to see it again now unless they recast Brad Pitt's role. A stick. A rabbit. Anything but him).Joj Y. edytował(a) ten post dnia 11.08.10 o godzinie 16:10

Haha, that's funny because I love that movie just for its awesome plane shots.
But I guess you don't like it because of its unreal military proceedings.

Eww, the 'interview' is my least favorite among his movies.

I liked his performance in Magnolia. He tried something else (than his regular characters on film) in that movie, I believe.

Edit: I just realized the idea about the plane shots. You would like those (I wouldn't know the particulars about their protocols. I get nauseous on amusement park rides, and I have bad visual acuity). :)

I like "Top Gun" for the fact you like it then. I didn't see it but I can picture parts of it in my mind:)

Specifically, I'm snobbish about scripts. People have to talk right for me to give it thumbs up. Isn't that rigid? I know. My fault hehe. I couldn't write a script to save my life and here I am a snob about them.

Yea, well... it's a rare trait these days. Scripts are written so poorly sometimes that I often wonder if the movie industry became a part of the global conspiracy and is working just as hard as the Educational facilities on mass production of dumb asses. Lowering standards with each flick until we'll all sit in at the movies watching...

I think the biggest turn off for me when watching a movie is a half witted dialog, forced accents [Leonardo DiCraprio in "Blood Diamonds" - unbearable] or public figures whom most would associate with 90210 type sitcoms playing roles which completely don't fit their demeanor.

I guess I've just pretty much named 95% of movies out there today hahah...

At some point his name in the credits was a promise of a good movie for me (esp. having seen Collateral, Vanilla Sky, Minority Report, etc.) but these times have long gone. I wouldn't call him a cretin, since he's intelligent in many ways, but I find his state of mind unhealthy and disturbing.

2. IKEA - furniture we love to hate?

IKEA is a furniture supermarket and we all find supermarkets useful sometimes. Besides, it offers an alternative style (a quite distinctive style, which many other companies copied later) at affordable prices to a rather conservative one that is typical of Polish furniture. It was particularly noticeable twenty years ago when it entered the Polish market. Now it has blended in and became just another furniture shop.

I have several large items from IKEA at home and can disprove claims that they will fall apart after a couple of years, esp. my desk, which is nearly 10 years old and has survived several acts of assembling and disassembling as well as a van trip from London to Olsztyn and is still serving me very well. Having said that, I do not and would not like to have my flat furnished 'IKEA style' from head to toe.

3. Indian food - can't replicate it properly at home. Can you?

It's much easier to replicate it when you're based in the UK, like I did with lamb rogan josh last month, with all the ingredients at hand. However, much as I enjoy the process and results of my homecooking, nothing can beat a good old curry house, or even better, an Indian takeaway with all the naans, samosas poppadums and bhajis crammed into a box ;)

A wrong question: Can you buy a house with walls that will hold the socket in properly? ;)
