Last Saturday we had the excitement of the F.A. Cup final.

Coming soon will be the European nations final.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, we will have the Eurovision final!!!

The first semi-final will be tonight, the second on Thursday.

Will you be watching?

Turkish Radio and Television (TRT), sends the songs which are never published before. So everytime Turkey appears in the competition, that song is a brand-new one.

This year's finalist from Turkey: "Mor ve Ötesi" is one of the biggest selling Rock bands in Turkey.

Turkey joined the competition in 1975 for the 1st time and won the prize in 2003.

Keith, if -just for an example- Germany is presented with a country style of song, how can a French appreciate his neighbor's `culture` in this case?
There are freaky weird stuff going on.
Some people are really trying hard to make Hip-hop music, for example :)

And usually "cultures" are not presented.

Of course it isn't political. Very often the Greeks give the Turks douze points, and vice-versa; and they show no biais towards the (Greek) Cypriot entry...... don't they??? Oh....

Steven, as you can see, the hassle between Greece and Turkey is not THAT serious when it comes to Eurovision song contest :)
Turkey is clearly less biased as you can see in here:

Actually even I didn't know, Turkey GAVE a point to Greek side of the Cyprus. With their song, I wouldn't give any, because that was a pretty weak entry. 1 point is ok :) (2004 was the 1st year of them in the contest).

I was very disappointed to see Ireland's entry, 'Dustin the Turkey' being eliminated at the semi-final stage.

Honestly speaking, I hope that "our song" and "our" singer will get some really good notes.
The entire halo about Her ( Kuba W. and Robert L.) is ridiculous to me.
Hopefully she'll manage to kick their arse :)

I'm not a fan of her, I'm just against the boorishness.

it's not always the best song that will win because what are the criteria ?
Who defines the criteria of a good song ?
How to compare ballads with pop, rock ... ?

In this contest... people are usually voting for their neighbour country. It's more political.
That's my opinion.
