Risk Velocity is an emerging risk management concept at present and a lot more practice work is needed in my opinion; much of what I see being used on the ground is pretty unfastened. This should encourage those working in this area of risk measurement to experiment in a statistically robust manner because the outcomes could be really exciting.

Being able to identify recovery rates across different time frames for alternate sources of risk, might assist risk managers instill a mechanism for measuring causal attributions for improved recovery rates. Risk measurement in this sense would help a business find its own best practices with respect to responding to risk events. You could literally write operating risk management policy on the back of the analysis.
