SENIOR TEST ENGINEERS

Salary to 55k or 300 euro p/day


Purpose

The Senior Test Engineer will report to the Team Lead/Test Manager and will be responsible for performing software-testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for developing test plans and specifications and undertaking test execution at various levels.
- Interface closely with the development team to ensure quality is maintained.
- Understand product enhancements under development, as well as business objectives/requirements behind the product enhancements and translate into high quality test plans and test specifications, ensuring comprehensive quality assurance testing of the developed functionality against the business requirements. Document test results.
- Participate in troubleshooting of product defects during the development cycle and for deployed products.
- Analysis of product performance and identification of potential hotspots. Disciplined reporting, tracking, and resolution of product defects.
- Involved in interviewing new and potential candidates to the test team.
- Recommend enhancements to existing process and tools, also recommending new tools to improve the team’s productivity in the future.
- Involved in Test automation, ensuring that the scripts created are to a high standard maintained and executed regularly by the test team.

Profile

The Senior Test Engineer will be an integral part of the test team. They will be expected to contribute to the design, development and execution of test tools, test plans and test suites and report defects in order to maintain and enhance product quality.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Working knowledge of Development and test lifecycles
- Working knowledge of defect tracking systems (for example Remedy, Bugzilla)
- Minimum 4-6 years experience in software testing
- Experience in testing of billing or messaging systems
- Knowledge of Mobile telecoms industry and mobile operator environment.
- Experience in scripting (PERL, Shell) and database script experience (ie SQL)
- Working knowledge of test management tools (ie Mercury Interactive Test Director, IBM Rational Test Manager)
- Experience using test automation tools (for example Rational Robot, Mercury QuicktestPro).

Qualifications

- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
