Alticast is a Television software company specialising in Java based middleware and server side solutions.

At Alticast we are building EMEA business. I am helping to steer product development for the European market place, to complement the strong offering in Asia. In addition, I will build an engineering software team to support the projects and a service team to maintain them.

Osmosys is a software company within ADB Group SA, a designer and manufacturer of set top boxes for satellite, cable and terrestrial television. The role there, is to establish the Wroclaw, Poland, branch office, build the software team and deliver company software products and projects. I handled salaries and local budget, product definition and project scheduling, innovation and quality.

Main achievements:
* Responsible for creation and shipment of 6 MILLION copies of Navigator flagship product
* Inventor of company EGG(TM) product, rated top 3 must see innovations at IBC 2007 and now considered for inclusion in OCAP middleware standard.
* Awarded company Innovation Award for EGG.
* Joint Inventor of company EGG-FX, next generation graphics product.
* Sole responsibility for delivery of MHEG 1.05 and 1.06 products
* Opening of new branch office, recruiting and maintaining a team in a difficult market
* Promotion
* Created a centre of excellence in user interfaces resulting in significant intellectual property development and patent generation.

Elixent was a fabless, semiconductor manufacturer in the area of reconfigurable processing. The role, reporting to Director of Engineering, mainly involved moving a highly academic team to a product focused one, delivering the companies only product and managing international teams.

Main achievements:
* Repeated, timely, delivery of the Elixent EDA tool chain product (similar to that of Xilinx), generating the company’s only revenue.
* Gave the company a product focused team, moving them away from academic attitudes
* Lead the software team to investment success against extraordinarily tight deadlines

ClearSpeed is a startup, fabless, semiconductor manufacturer. The role, reporting to the Director of Engineering, involved working closely with the CTO to translate his vision into engineering reality, building and leading the software team and delivering company products.

Main Achievements:
* Building a world class team of over 100 people
* Sole responsibility for the delivery of the OpenGL and DirectX products
* Enabled company survival during downsizing
* Represented company on OpenGL Architecture Review Board (referenced in 1.3 Spec)
* Patent granted
* Promotion

Silicon Graphics Ltd. is an international company with a focus on high performance computing and computer graphics. My duties included coding, presentations, pre-sales and evangelism. Reported to the local technical manager.

Main Achievements:
* Helped to establish 3.5 million UK pounds of business in computer games in the UK
* Became the recognised computer graphics expert in SGI UK (no small achievement)
* Member the worldwide technical team that won Europort parallel supercomputer bid in 1997 worth 10 Million US Dollars of business for SGI
* Sole responsibility for a £250,000 deal at CADCentre

EPCC is a small company housed at Edinburgh University concerned with the commercial exploitation of parallel supercomputers. I was employed as a software engineer and consultant.

Main Achievements:
* Managed a very successful Summer Scholarship Project involving over 60 people
* Won a raytracing development contract with British Aerospace
* Developed parallel photon tracer, raytracer, radiosity, flocking simulation, iso-surface renderer, modular visualisation environment
* Many publications
* Two promotions
