Plan product ranges and prepare sales and stock plans in conjunction with buyers
Work closely with visual display staff and department heads to decide how goods should be displayed to maximise customer interest and sales;
Plan budgets and present sales forecasts and figures for new ranges;
Control stock levels based on forecasts for the season;
Produce sales projections and present spreadsheets and graphs;
Analyze every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the bestselling price points, colours or styles) and ensure that bestsellers reach their full potential;
Monitor slow sellers and take action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary;
Analyze previous season's sales and report on the current season's lines;
Identyfy supply difficulties and deal with any problems or delays as they arise;
Make allocations, maintain desired inventory levels and assortment
Plan order quantities, schedule deliveries, oversee shipping/receiving and warehousing of merchandise,
Monitor store category sales, supervising physical inventory, monitor the timing and scope of seasonal changes

Identify and develop key styling, colour palette and range content (use of magazines, WGSN, Internet) create mood and story boards, assist with preparation for range reviews
Develop and source products, daily communication with suppliers, manage paperwork associated with delivery, manage critical path, raise orders, negotiate with suppliers
Manage relevant garment specifications and maintain high quality standards, lap dips and fit comments, approval of SGS reports, ensure samples are received on time, preparation of size specification. Maximise sales, opportunities and performance, assess product range with key competitors, monitor and report sales performance, personal input on the selection of garments, use magazines and other publications to identify relevant trends and put forward ideas,

Strategic planning of product placement in cooperation with merchandisers, preparation of planograms based on sales reports, new range and high visual standards,
Choose trend story and prepare visual presentation of products for the press to promote the range
Competition shopping, analyse competitor’s offer and prepare the report for Buying Controller
