Young person, who is eager to learn, that is why had broad experience with different aspects of IT and telecommunications. Interested in databases systems for last 4 years, especially Oracle. Certified Oracle Associate who everyday learning new features and tricks, this allows to reach higher standards and provide better quality and performance. Had experience with Oracle: databases – 8.0; 8i; 9i; 10g R1/R2; 11g R1/R2, SQL Server: 2000; 2005; 2008;MySQL 5.0,5.1,5.5 .

Goals:
Short term (couple months):SQL Server 2008 and further Oracle Certifications (RAC, GoldenGate)
Middle term(1-3 years): OCM, UNIX (Solaris,AIX), further SQL Server certifications
Long term: Acquire as broad knowledge about database solutions I can (get knowledge in development PL/SQL, data warehousing)

My completed projects:
1) Migration of several Oracel 8.0 databases with character set conversion (USASCII7 to WE8MSWIN1252) to version 10g release 2. This was completed with success, provided for client also Application DBA consultancy.

2) IT continuity planning:
a) testing of restoration/recovery critical databases and applications connected with them from scratch (tape, disk backups). This involves many different people cooperating with each other: UNIX administrators, Storage administrators, Application developers. This is critical for business and audit reason.
b) Implementing new backup, recovery solutions. Conversion of tape backups to disk to disk backups.
c) DR solutions – DataGuard (switchover, failover), Streams, GoldenGate

3) GoldenGate No downtime upgrade/migration of databases allocated for SIEBEL/Salsa applications, using Oracle GoldenGate solution. These very critical Applications used by tens of thousands sales representatives from many different markets, need to be upgraded to newer version. Project assumes migration of current data to newly created environment, without no downtime which could lead to financial losses. Main problem is that newer versions of those applications have different data model. Cooperation with developers is needed to reach our goal. Oracle GoldenGate solution was chosen to achieve it, participate in implementing it on target and source environments.

4) Configuring and maintaining Patrol monitoring on UNIX/LINUX servers

Other tasks:
standard oracle administration – creation / managing / refreshes of schemas / accounts, maintain capacity of tablespaces, managing / installing / configuring ASM instances, managing / installing / configuring RAC environments, solve performance issues, upgrades, installations, recovery/restore/creation/cloning of databases etc...

Good background of:
SH and Perl scripting,AWK,UNIX, Windows, C++, Matlab/Scilab
