* At a store management level I was responsible and accountable for the running of the menswear department.
* In the absence of the store manager I was expected to step up into that role.
* Ensuring the highest of standards are maintained in all areas at all times without fail.
* Maximising sales at every opportunity where possible and also competition shops on a regular basis to ensure no missed opportunities for the business.
* Using all commercial reports on a daily basis to ensure all company and in store best sellers are in place and constantly optioned throughout the day.

* To oversee the efficient ordering of stock and placement of all new / bestselling lines.

* Department figures show an increase of 10% on last year when in a challenging economic climate this was an excellent result.
* Monthly targets were constantly met and exceeded.
* Staff turnover has decreased by 20% on the department vs. last year.
* Stock take results have been consistently good whereas shrinkage has shown a steady decrease.

Deputy Manager
Part of a successful team which opened the new Liverpool One store. Job description:
* Reporting directly to the Department Manager, responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the visual merchandising and ensuring the highest of standards are maintained on the department at all times.
* Ordering of stock on a twice weekly basis.
* Taking in deliveries on a twice weekly basis, preparing stock into subsection and ensuring all new collections are placed within the department as a matter of importance.
* Ensuring the highest levels of customer service are adhered to at all times to generate an exciting and pleasant shopping experience for the customer.
* Preparing stock and department layout in accordance with the Zara sale.
* Assisting with the training and development of all staff on the department.
* Using Zara ranking guides to influence and drive sales.
* Contacting the product managers in Spain to give and to receive feedback on new lines / best sellers to ensure the department has sufficient rotation to maximise and maintain sales in these key areas.

Extra Responsibilities
* Preparing a departmental rota for a 4 week period, overseeing wage costs and overtime.
* Ensuring all HR issue's within the department are recognised and dealt with.
* Recruitment and selection of possible candidates wishing to join the company.
* Fire warden duties in line with current legislation and company guidelines.
Primark
Department Manager
Reporting directly to the Assistant Manager, responsibilities included:
* Ensuring the department meets weekly and period budgets.
* Ensuring all department merchandising makes commercial sense due to the fact I run the busiest subsection within the store.
* Driving sales forward at every opportunity in line with company and high street sales.
* Training and development of all members of staff in my subsection.
* Monitoring stock loss on a weekly basis.
* Stockroom housekeeping.
* Taking in deliveries if and when required.

Extra Responsibilities
* Working closely alongside the company visual merchandiser, I have been given a license to merchandise all feature walls in the store as I have a flair for creating a unique style of visual display which ultimately benefits the business and has proved to increase sales dramatically.
* Due to the fact that that I was taking in excess of £120k over the Christmas period I was asked by the Store Manager to come into the store earlier to do all new line orders for the whole department.
* As stocktaking is such an important aspect of the job role, I have twice been asked to do night shift to assist with and run specific sections of the store during stocktake, ensuring all staff are fully trained and are able to meet the tight deadlines required.
* Responsible for overseeing all stock no sales on the department, all reduced no sales on the department, all daily new lines are in place (with a report sent to the General Store Manager by 4pm on the sales reaction) and any new reductions from the Area Manager are in place and ordered as a matter of priority.
* Helping to run the cash office when they are short staffed
Primark
Night Shift Manager
Working as one of two night team managers I was responsible for 50-60 members of staff.
* Processing all delivery from the previous day and taking in first delivery at 7am the following morning which consisted of preparing all new lines for the day and separating into subsection within all departments.
* Responsible for the merchandising off all department feature walls and feature bays.
* All paperwork issue's including stock no sales, sales by subsection, company best sellers vs. in store best sellers.
* Ensuring stock loss was kept to an absolute minimum.
* Staffing issues ranging from training and development to counselling and disciplinarians.
